In Pictures: Nearly completed hotel brings downtown infill

Construction is nearly finished on the Courtyard by Marriott, a new hotel on the 300 West block of 100 South.  The five-story, 175-room hotel adds street presence and infill to a long-neglected section of downtown.

The hotel is adjacent to recently completed 159 room, Hyatt House.   Both hotels help to connect the Gateway to the rest of downtown and activate a stretch of 100 South that was previously a storage warehouse and a surface parking lot used for events at adjacent Energy Solutions Arena.

The Courtyard by the Marriott is one of two projects under construction on the block.  On the southeast corner of the block is the Paragon Station development, a conversion of the former Westgate Business Center into high-end residential lofts.
