Millcreek and Sugar House construction update in photos

Sugar House

While you probably have noticed the roads under construction in Sugar House, you may have missed the handful of buildings either under construction or recently completed. Here’s a look:

Montaire North – 1121 East Ashton Ave

Topping out at 10 floors, Montaire North, situated between the Patagonia outlet and the east side of Fairmont Park will soon be the tallest building in Sugar House. The 228 apartments are replacing a 24Hour Fitness. Amenities include a fitness center, pool and sauna, and co-working space.

Montaire South – 1132 East Ashton Ave

Topping out at 89 feet, Montaire South will soon bring 89 apartments immediately west of the Sugar House liquor store. The future of the liquor store is in limbo after a project for the former Snelgrove Ice Cream site have fizzled out.

Sugar Alley – 2188 Highland Drive

After burning down to the podium in an October 2022 fire, the rebuild of Sugar Alley, a Lowe Development Group project, is finally complete. With 16,000 square feet of ground floor retail space and 186 rental units, the project has attracted restaurant tenants Hearth and Hill, and sister cafe Hill’s Kitchen. Tenants also include Barry’s, an upscale gym.

Millcreek City Center

Moving south down to Millcreek, development hasn’t slowed down since our last photo update. Here’s an update of their ever-growing city center.

The Westerly – 3205 S 1300 E

The Westerly, the latest project by Cottonwood Residential in Millcreek, will soon bring 220 market rate apartments just east of the Brickyard Harmons.

Millhaus – 1354 E Miller Ave

The Millhaus is the latest development in Millcreek by the Boyer Company. Upon completion, the project will bring 217 market rate apartments to the area.

Brick Lofts Phase II

The second phase of Brick Lofts is under construction; the first phase was converting the adjacent office building into apartments. Upon completion, the seven-story building will add an additional 89 one- and two-bedroom units to the 44 units completed during Phase I, bringing a total of 133 apartments to the neighborhood.

Millcreek Medical – 3179 S Highland Drive

The recently completed Millcreek Medical building is located just east of the Crown Burger on Highland Drive. The property includes 21,570 SF office/retail space, and 49 surface parking spaces.
