Hosts of ‘powderland’ real estate development summit in Salt Lake City announce speaker lineup

The development group behind powderland, a real estate development summit focused on bringing dealmakers together and elevating the discussion around high-quality design, have unveiled the lineup of speakers for the event.

powderland will take place March 1-3 in Salt Lake City. It will feature executives from leading development groups in Salt lake City as well as elsewhere as part of programming for an exclusive real estate event for GPs, LPs and brokers.

“We have incredible speakers and an incredible attendee list so far,” said James Alfandre, a partner at the development firm Urban Alfandre, which is organizing the event. “We promise high quality attendees and content, curated small group networking and amazing food. It will be unlike any real estate conference that’s ever taken place in Salt Lake City.”

Among the headline speakers is Taylor Woodbury, CEO of Woodbury Corp, the Salt Lake City-based firm that does national real estate development, management and equity management.

The event will also feature Nate Boyer, president of The Boyer Company, a full-service developer of all commercial real estate asset classes.

Jonathan Gardner, president of Asilia Investments, an alternative investment manager focused on private credit, real estate and venture capital.

Urban Alfandre announced that the rest of the speaker lineup included leading developers of urban infill housing, experts in opportunity zone financing and construction, and others in the financing and asset management space.

Other speakers include:

  • Brandon Blaser, founder and president of BCG Holdings
  • Jordan Atkin, president of TAG SLC
  • Dejan Eskic, senior research fellow at the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute
  • Steve Broadbent, partner at Thrive Development
  • Dennis Allen, managing director at Wolverton Capital

  • Newton Breiter, creative director and senior development manager at Lake Union Partners
  • Jeff Grasso, managing partner of Vesta Realty Partners
  • David Vitale, portfolio manager of Progeny 3

The event will include “small group networking, curated content and unforgettable food,” Alfandre said. Friday includes a day skiing, riding or snowmobiling on Utah’s epic snowpack.

The application period to apply to attend powderland ends Feb. 20 or sooner if the event reaches capacity.
