A fire that destroyed a warehouse in the Granary District overnight is the site of a mixed-use development called Pacific Yard.

Flames engulfed the All Weather building at 704 S. 400 W., near the center of the rapidly redeveloping industrial neighborhood.

The fire destroyed the building, which had already been approved for demolition for the project by Urban Alfandre, a Building Salt Lake advertiser. It’s unlikely the fire would delay construction, as

Pacific Yard is set to become a seven-story building with 292 dwelling units and 6,500 square feet of ground-floor retail. The building will be 88 feet tall after winning approvals from the city to build taller than the 60 feet allowed by-right in the General Commercial zone.

James Alfandre, a partner with the firm, confirmed the fire struck his building.

We’ll provide any updates as they become available.
